Our Board meets every second Tuesday of each Month at the Fallon Chamber at 5:30 P.M.

Cynthia McGarrah

President

Cindy has lived in Fallon and Churchill County for the past 40 years.

Cindy has lived in Fallon and Churchill County for the past 40 years.  She is a former business owner and currently works for a Financial and Investment firm.  Cindy holds a Bachelor’s degree in Business Management with an emphasis in Finance.  Cindy also sits on the Churchill Economic Development Authority board .

Cindy has been the past producer and executive director of the Miss Fallon/Miss America Pageant Organization for 20 years. Cindy also is past Chairwoman of the Churchill County Mosquito Abatement and Noxious Weed organization for the past 2 years.  Cindy is an avid Singer and will perform any chance she gets.  Cindy is proud to call Fallon and Churchill County her home and proud to be a GreenWave Alumni.  Cindy has one grown daughter who lives in Florida.  


Angela Guthrie

Vice President

She feels blessed to raise her family here and be able to call Fallon “home”.

Angela moved to Fallon from Pennsylvania in 2005. She has worked for Financial Horizons Credit Union for the last 20 years. Over the course of her 20 years at the Credit Union she has earned her financial counseling certification and several IRA professional certifications. She has been the branch manager in our Fallon branch since 2010 and has recently been promoted to the Director of Lending in 2025. Angela has worked hard at getting her presence known in Fallon with several community projects and fundraisers. She has fallen in love with Fallon and the people that live here. She feels blessed to raise her family here and be able to call Fallon “home”.


Valerie Johnston

Treasurer

She is happy to have made Nevada her forever home.

Valerie Johnston is a Financial Analyst at Great Basin Federal Credit Union and current board member of the Chamber. Valerie began her banking career in 1987 at Valley Bank in Las Vegas, as a teller, and worked her way up through the ranks. In 1998 she made the move to credit unions, understanding that credit unions served the communities where they are located better than banks. Prior to joining Great Basin, Valerie was the President/CEO of Reno City Employees Federal Credit Union for four years and the CEO of Churchill County Federal Credit Union for seven years.

Valerie attended the University of Nevada, Reno studying Business Management. She lives in Fallon with her husband, Scott. They enjoy geocaching, cooking, camping and traveling.  Their daughter, Leah, is the Practice Manager at a pediatric dentist office in Reno and their son, Matthew works for Tesla.  They have recently celebrated the arrival of their first grandchild, Theo. 


Michelle Gabiola-Rogers

Secretary

She has seen a lot of changes take place in our community and believes it is still by far the best place to live.

Michelle retired from CC Communications after 24 years.  She spends her time volunteering with different groups, with education our youth on the importance of agriculture in their daily lives. Michelle  was raised in in Fallon and is graduated from Churchill County High School. Her family has been in Fallon since the early 1920’s – her father Mike was born and raised here.Her grandparents emigrated from the Basque county in Spain and made their home in Fallon. She has been fortunate enough to still live on the same farm her grandfather bought in 1934, which has now seen 3 generations of her family be raised there. 

She is married to Bret, and has 4 great kids and 4 wonderful grandchildren growing up here in Fallon.

She has seen a lot of changes take place in our community and believes it is still by far the best place to live. 


Ava Case

Director

Ava comes from many generations and family ties right here in our great little town.

It has been a pleasure sitting on the Board of Directors for Chamber of Commerce for the last 3 years and previously approximately 3 years.  I’m  very excited to continue to server our community.

I currently sit on the Park-n-Rec Board in which helping our community and proving services and activities to attract organizations and events to our area.

I’m proud to be a 3rd generation Fallon Native growing up with deep roots.  My passion is golfing and supporting my nieces and nephews and their many activities.  Family is my priority along with being part of a Family which have been an integral part of this community. 

I have recently completed a goal I set a few years ago and graduated for College with my AA in May of 2025.  I have also recently retired from the State of Nevada in April 2025.

Being retired will give me a little more time to assist as needed with the Chamber and I will also be assisting at the Churchill Coalition on a part-time basis.
She feels Fallon is the place for her, since Fallon gives her a great sense of community and family.


Lucy L. Carnahan

Executive Director

She hopes to foster the city’s growth, but also keep the small town feel and closeness to the community.

Lucy L. Carnahan is the Fallon Chamber of Commerce’s Executive Director.

She comes with over 20 years experience in management, mostly within our non-profit sector.

She has built her reputation with staff building, supporting staff and volunteers  with duties and direction with daily assignment. Is a working leader with the ability to guide teamwork.

She has strong public relations and customer service. With the ability to organize and execute, supervise and coordinate administrative duties, projects including contracted services, special events, and marketing strategies.

Along with this has become proficient community networking, planning, delegations, and motivation. Well organized, dependable, detailed-oriented and flexible with change. Has the ability to work well with management, staff and consumers, as well as independently.

She has attended many State and Government contract negotiations, State Legislative Sessions, advocacy for transportation and human services.

Additionally, she has become a successful grant writer. With a verifiable track record of consistently meeting and exceeding monetary records.
